My tyres will need replacing at some point soon and as im planning on buying a boat for the summer and using the freelander to launch and recover it im thinking of changing my road tyres for some All Terrain tyres.

Ive heard the BF Goodrich AT's are great but Im not sure they come in my wheel size.

The tyres on there now are 215/65/R16

Has anyone fitted AT tyres to their FL1? what did you opt for and how much did they set you back?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Chris

Don't know at BFG's but have you considered General Grabber AT2's? almost identical tyre but more importantly cheaper ... plus they make them in the size you want.

I've got AT2's in that size -£100 each fitted.

Only had snow on the ground this morning and it handled as though the snow wasn't there!!

They do appropriate sizes in either General Grabber or BFG. Both makes have a very good reputation. Got nearly 90,000 miles out of our last set of BFGs and there was still loads of tread left.

Good road manners and not much more fuel consumption.

What surface will you be launching/recovering on? Do you need ATs?

Cheers

Blippie.

Most of us have some form of AT tyre on their FL1

16" wheels are the optimum size for the biggest range of fitments
The standard Michelin work well - used to be Synchrone, now Latitude
But, Goodrich or many others very good on there

Ill be launching in a harbour that's basically sand. Apart from that and the odd bit of snow its mainly used on road. I don't want too much road noise but at the minute I've got road tyres on and if you lose momentum then your screwed.
