Howdy,

firstly, was replacing the radiator on my Defender today, in great Edinburgh drizzle (not wet enough to stop, but wet enough to soak you..). After a bit of a wrestle the radiator went in, was just putting on the steady plate on the top and putting on the arms that go from the plate to anchor above the grill. Had to replace the rusty nut/bolt, so had shiney new ones to put on. The very last one kept turning, got a set of mole grips underneath and clamped it. Just as I tightened from the top on the last turn, mole grips popped off and put a fekin hole in the brand new radiator. I lost it and called the car all the bastards under the sun (even though it was my fault!). Things got so bad, that the christians next door (its an encampment / mission place) came over to see if I was injured/ok. I felt like a right tit after that. I now see the funny side (not really, but I suppose I should say that). Surely, I must win the "**** of the month" award.... Anyway, plugged the hole now.

Secondly - Need some help with a kenlowe fan I'm fitting. Electrics and plumbing is fine, but I'm struggling to see where I bolt the bugger on to. Anyone got a picture / description of where I it on? Its going behind the radiator. Any help appreciated.....

Cheers
Ken

dont forget the four rubber shock things that look like door stoppers and fit within the mounting holes

i've recently had to change a rad that had a Kenlowe fitted using those stupid non standard barbed fixings - they work fine BUT you have to cut the bastid things orf to remove the fan and Kenlowe dont keep replacements in stock - so make yerself up a proper mounting plate fer the fan

Yer great fripping numpty wazzach. You get a bit of tubing with an internal diametre a bit smaller than the mounting holes stick a bit of lube in em and push em over the rubber mounting block this compresses the barb.

Keep the tube tight to the rad and pull sharply and the rubber will pop out without needing to cut it. repeat on each mounting and the jobs a good un.

i dont know what the old uns looked like but that deffo wont work with the new style fixings

Ahhh,

think that might be the problem then. Have the eletrical / plumbinb instructions and fittings, but there is no documentation about mounting the fan, and no mounting kit stuff apart from brackets. Can't see any of the barbed/long thin fixing kit or rubber feet for that matter. I've looked at pics on the net of the kenlowe fan and I definelty think they are missing from my box. I feel some supplier bashing coming on....

thanks for the info!
cheers
