Hey all,

My beloved freelander 1.8 has a random misfire at full throttle. But only with the pedal pushed fairly quickly to the floor. And only now n then day after Rain oddly.

I had an engine management light on this morning reporting cam sensor, throttle position sensor an 1st oxygen sensor.

I Also had the amber hdc light on the other day as well. This cleared 30 mins later.

Also sometimes feel like it hesitates briefly.

My suspicion has been the throttle position sensor, and when using a diagnostic computer I'd borrowed I'm getting 4.36v when the pedal is fully depressed. Would this be the correct reading?

Anyone else think it's the tps?

Thanks,

Ash

Decided I'm gonna replace the cam position sensor and cam sensor and go from there. Can't do it till after the trip to the body shop though, I wrenched the door the other day. :-(

They were checked leadtime but as it hunts on idle and hesitates from time to time thought I'd elimate these first. If this doesn't fix it. Off to Auto Sparkie it goes lol. Seems to only mis fire a day after rain but the hesitation is all the time randomly.

Don't know if the K Series has an Air Flow Sensor, but my Disco was hunting at idle and running rough and it was the Air Flow Sensor - well not the sensor so much as the loom connector to it - maybe you're getting some moisture in there.

I had various "specialists" examine the fault and they were all up for major work. Luckily my brother paid us a visit, had a look over it and found the problem very quickly!

Yeh, only happened in the rain, cos if it was sunny I'd walk :)

Dunno to be honest, I don't think I associated damp weather to it being worse - was pretty random. When it started playing up, I'd just give the connector to the air flow sensor a wiggle and it would go back to normal.
