My iPhone Wifi ODBii adapter arrived today.
My phone connects to it ok but doesn't seem to get anything from it.
Will try it on the missus's car tomorrow to see if it's my car or the adapter.

Yes....but you drive 50 miles each way at a reasonable speed hopefully, without having to stop and start too much. All I ever seem to do is stop start stop start all the time in the metropolis. It is so nice to get out of it occasionally and drive!

100 miles each way old chap!! Yes, but I do a bit of around town work too. Before I fixed the stat I had to be very careful to get that figure whereas now I can just get on and drive and still get the same so IMO it has helped doing the stat.

ps, I do NOT miss driving around central London one bit at all!! 7 years I did that - why...? :confused2: I used the bike a lot (one of the very first M900 Monster Ducatis) but left London about the same time I was starting to think bike couriers were slow pussies. Thankfully, I'm still alive to tell the tale and never had a whack. Came close quite a few times....

Mine easily achieves 43.7mpg without trying, but it's a manual and I've sorted everything on it but never really drove it before it was done.

Jeez, I thought I was doing well until I read this post :(

The Freelander's my wife's daily drive to and from work, 8 miles each way through 4 small towns about 2 miles apart so never getting to any kind of cruising speed.

I'm hoping the mpg will go up now that I've fitted the inline thermostat so the car will get up to running temperature and it should also stop the FBH running all the time as the engine temp never got to 70 degrees to turn it off.

100 miles each way......Even more reason to get higher mpg then!!!!

I'm self employed and have to visit clients all over South London, so my average speed can be 10mph on a good day, so not surprising my average isn't great!

I used to teach people to ride bike, but gave up 10 years ago..... I also did cbt's and was fed up with 16 year olds trying to kill themselves. The DAS bit was fun, but not in winter or the rain. I ended up being given an ER5 with full crashbars in the snow and ice as I kept on dropping the works Bandit 1200 on ice  after doing about 20,000 miles a year for about 4 years I'd had enough. When most bikes are only ridden for about 2-4,000 miles, that was more than the average biker rode in his (or her) life! You obviously rode many more miles than average.

The Scangauge 2 is a really good bit of kit, at the moment I have it displaying water temp, boost, instant mpg and ave mpg but you can choose from a huge range of gauges to display.. Since my wife uses the Freelender for work every day I've set the display to purple which she loves.

Mines is an 04 plate TD4 SE and the Scangauge works as soon as you connect it, I ran the cable behind the centre console and up the gap at the side of the steering column, really easy.

When you come to fit the Gates thermostat, take the whole top hose off and put the engine side in a jug of boiling water for a few minutes, this will soften it and make it easier to get the stat in there.
Also thinking of getting one , where do you connect it ?

Self employed too, so I'm bloody glad I can claim my running expenses!! :DMy Ducati was certainly clocking up the miles in London and then when I moved out to Swindon my 'round' was a nice 100 miles or so a day. I retired it when I started doing more miles in the MX5 at the time, roof down no matter what the weather, til I got stuck totally in the snow, then got a Pajero, but that's another story.. My Duc was one of the highest milers in the club back in it's day but it has been overtaken now as it hasn't turned a desmo in anger for the last 3 years. I was going to doa full rebuild this last spring for it's 20th birthday, but got hooked on my Evel Knievel rep Monkey bike instead... so maybe next year. Trouble is, I'm probably too far away from work now for the Duc as I can only just squeeze 165 miles a tank out of it and it would be 200 miles a day. And not to mention that my Freelander is probably more economical. How the hell does that work>>?
