Non Starting

Gents,
Parked the TD4 up last night after normal perfect days use. Went to use it today and just got a click from the starter no attempt to crank the engine nothing just a click. The battery seems to be fine no response to a jump start.
It seems odd that the starter would just give up with out warning. I did wonder if the immobiliser is playing up?
Any Ideas or advice would be great

Battery connections clean and tight?

sounds like a stuck starter, or solenoid issue, try giving the starter a whack, and then try it, if not check wiring is tight on connections, or remove for a bench test, can you reach starter terminals with jump lead?

Thanks for the replies, it turned out to be a loose and dirty connection on the starter
