I recently fitted a heavy duty Lucas flasher relay as part of the towbar fitting. The indicators, lights and brake lights all function correctly but there is a constant clicking when the wipers are operating and the same when the brake pedal is depressed. Any ideas?

Yes several ;)

1, Did you not read the before you post bit?
2, What friggin model Freelander is it?
3, If it's a 1,8 petrol Burn the bugger.
4, Does it still click if you take the new relay out? ;)

:welcome2:

Thanks for getting back:
1. Not read - excuse just joined.
2. 2006 TD4
3. No comment
4. Not tried yet - I will when it stops p*****g it down with rain.

Mouse - The original flasher unit was working fine with no clicking noise from either the wipers or brake lights, so I assume it must be caused by the new relay which may be par for this relay with the freelander.
What should I have seen in the "Before you post" bit?

annoying isn't it! my wife is moaning about it too. suggest you plug in the original relay and keep the clickity click one for towing, or install a beeper.

Absolutely agree - my wife is moaning about it too!! Like you, I have removed the offending part and re-installed the original unit until need to use the trailer or caravan again.
