Wifes car but noticed the other day it sounds like a barring has gone or is it more serious? it sounds like a wirling noise if you know what I mean :)

Is there a simple check to pin point the problem?

Regards

Describing a noise on here is like watching a mime artist on the radio.......

However.

It could be just tyre wear.
Have you just had new tyres fitted to the front?

Do a search on here for "Rumbling VCU"

Not saying that's what it is, but it will give you a good idea of what you can check for yourself without shelling out for someone to look for you ;)

Thanks.

MOT is due in November and if it needs doing then it has to be done but fingers crossed and I hope its not an expensive fix thats needed.

Now where's that bucket of sand?? :D

Get it jacked up and look for yourself
At the very least jack up each wheel and give it a twist n turn to see if it's a wheel bearing?

Or is it all too much of an effort to even search for clues? :(

Would it be better if someone just came round and fixed it for ya? :(

Or do you have more money than sense ?

Time not enough.
Me and car fixing is ok but would rather someone else did it.
More money than sense my misses says.
:) :)

Will jack it up and give it a pull and push over the weekend when I have time.

Thanks for the info.

Well then PARK the bloody thing then for you don't do further damage than what is all ready there. What would happen if wheel bearing came off and tyre came off, might need to cash in the wife's life insurance and buy a new car:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::doh:

Not asking to be critisised or ridiculed ok just seeking advice, which advice has been given, replied to and taken note of.

Why buy a Freelander and come on here then

Fur trapper also made a valid point that you need to take note of....

If it's a wheel bearing or any other bearing where would you like it to seize up???

Like your gonna have a choice?

Was thinking of family safety as I value mine very dearly, and would not want a 20quid bearing to change that!!!!!!!!!!!

Who said it was a bearing I didnt.

Until its looked after no one knows the fault or if indeed there is a fault.

Thanks for the feedback and comments.
