Happy new year everyone.

Got a problem with a 300tdi. Been running fine. went to boxhead over christmas, every so often lost power and cut out, especially on slopes. Starts up straight away again though ( with a little more cranking than usual) . Fair enought I thought, low on fuel. (guage never worked since I dented the tank ages ago ! )
Went to fill her up, only took £6.00 to brim it full, so there was plenty of juice.
Managed to drive 10 miles, no problems at all, then all of a sudden on a very slight slope, it did it again. Loss of power, then dies. Turn her over a few times and comes back to life...on the same slope, sodon't think its a pick up problem.

So far i've checked stop solenoid and wiring, tank breather. obvious splits holes etc along fuel lines. Lift pump looks ok and it always starts. I'm at a bit of a dead end as far as my knowledge goes. anyone any ideas please ? ta

Long shot, but it could be the spider problem .. do a search for good instructions. basically it's a dry joint in the alarm/immobiliser, and the slope might be breaking the connection.

id say its just your fuel filter, the hill requires more power, more fuel, and the filters only allowing a certain amount of fuel through, so the cylinders are draining because theres not enough fuel going through from the filter, it cuts out, you start it again (Priming the cylinders) so its fin till next time you go up a hill or boot it :)

The taking longer to restart bit would favour a fuel supply problem mind you - Pipe work, filter, lift pump etc

Check the bleed points as well to make sure air is not getting in/is in there
