No Noise on start up

Hi Guys

Just recently when starting the Disco and waiting for all the warning lights to go out I have noticed that the ping ping sound has stopped.

Am I right in thinking that the ECU has found a problem.

If so how can I find out what the issue is.

If I am not correct, what would stop the pinging sound.

Dont know if this helps...My mate runs a 2002 V8 almost identical to mine, except that he has owned it since new. His makes no noise at all on start up or at any other time and his driven it for 60k without a problem. Mine pings on start up to tell me to put the seat belt on. Pings if I leave the headlight on. Pings if I open the door with the keys in the ignition....I would look first at the seatbelt clasp. Is it sticking making the car think the seatbelt is fastened when it not and so no ping?

Warning lights come back on just after the engine starting and just as I was going to look into this further with manual in hand I started her up again and ping, ping (no warning lights).

I guess all is good again in the world of disco.

Thank you for your suggestion though. I cannot remember if my seatbelt was on the previous attempts.
