Definitely sounds earth related to me, mine all seemed to earth through a black wire coming from the loom somewhere - if i disconnected it none of the lights worked properly i.e. earthing through dash bulbs and stuff.

My problem was indicators flashed maybe twice then solid on. Added some more earth connections and it made it a lot better. Still not happy with the variation in flash speed and already got through too many Lucas flasher relays I had, so biting the bullet and converting to 3-pin electronic flasher relay...

I've found a bit of problem around where the tow plug is joined in. Broken wire and crappy joins.

Also found a broken wire behind the dash which looks like it goes into the tow plug wiring.

Rain (around 200mm in the afternoon ) stopped play, plus I'm getting too ****ed off with it now, so gonna see if I can muster some help.

Will report back when she's fixed..............

"Theoretically" a broken wire that just goes to the trailer socket shouldn't affect it, unless it's broken and shorting somewhere...if thats broken though there could well be more bodgery elsewhere!

Don't be afraid of wiring it is just a case of knowing what goes where. check the wiring diagram and see where the wires for the indicators go. Not much help without showing you I know but please check the diagram as it only applies to a small bit.

Thought I'd report back now they're working.

A pal came round to help and checked the voltage the same as me. Then asked if I'd checked the fuse.

Of course I have!

So he checked anyway, with his multimeter, and found it dead. (Even though it visually looked OK). I checked with my multimeter and found it OK??

Weird, but a new fuse sorted everything out.

Annoyed, would be an understatement.

Ah well, at least you got 'em sorted. Next thing to do is take a big hammer and kill the multi meter..:D
