hi all,
I've just bought my first landy (a disco 2 td5 2001) runs sweet and looks really clean :) anyway.. its been bought partly because its a landy and i love them and partly because I've managed to persuade the missus thats its the best car for the job of traveling (and sleeping) around Europe.

my plan is no major mods to the outside apart from a roof rack of some sort or at least a canopy off the back so we can be under cover of rain/sun
but inside take all the seats out but the front two and create a full size bed frame with storage underneath and a pull out table along with a twin gas cooker on the boot. if anyone has any picture of there projects it would be amazing to see them and ill keep posting my work as it progresses :)

Hello! Sounds like a good plan, I spotted a Disco 2 with a roof tent a few months back... I think I was at the kit car show. Looked the dogs danglers but I recon it cost a bob or two.

Why not look into getting a double air bed, then at least you can keep some space in the rear for when you arent sleeping on it? :)

I've thought about an air bed but the issue is we are going for 3 months and probably sleeping in it 5 out of 7 nights a week (the rest in cheap hostels to have a proper warm shower) so it needs to be really comfy so we don't dread sleeping in it! I'm thinking of getting a memory foam mattress, cutting it so it fits perfectly and then cutting it in half so we can move it on top of the other piece and have a little space? :)
has anyone ever cut a memory foam mattress?
