Hi everyone, just introducing myself and hoping to find some history on my little landy.

I have a half scale land rover witch was apparently built by the land rover apprentices back in 1948 for a 1949 motor show. However! A while back land rover world magazine did a two page feature on my landy with the title, THE PRINCE'S LAND ROVER? and said that by the look of the detail and shape it was more like the early to mid 50's.

The landy has a 2 stroke villiers engine, the sort that was used by Francis Bernet motorcycles during the 50's, hand made starter, forward and reverse gears as well as high and low ratio's. It even has a lever in the back where an adult can sit and work the brake clutch and throttle.

It was thought that my little landy was one of two ordered and made for the son of King Hussein of Jordan. There's so much more to tell but as you probably noticed, i'm not a lover of typing.

I am into off roading by the way, and own a number of 4x4's.

If anyone knows anyone who was working for land rovers around this time, its a long shot i know. This little landy has been stored for many years, but i think its now time to maybe let it sit in a musium or at least be seen and appreciated. I'm not bothered about selling the Landy, it would just be nice to get some history.

If anyone is in the know then please feel free to come forward.

Dave.

Here are some pics from the feature. The Landy is in storage so this is all i have for now but you get the idea.

Well i've owned it for 40 years now and its only ever been out twice. I'de rather it be sitting in a musium somewhere.

Come on fellas! Thought I would get a bit more feedback than this being a land rover forum. Someone must be able to give some pointers.

Its a nice object, but seriously, its built 63 years ago..so anyone around at that time would be 80+ now...we dont have that many members in that age range.

Mainly because they will be dead.

Gosh....had to join this forum specially to contact you!!
Today I collected my first ever Defender from
Pericaud Automobiles Limoges France (I moved to France a year ago)
and had been captivated by a photo on their wall of Hussein of Jordan`s son in a half size defender.
It must be yours!!!!!
Fame at last!!
