Hi wammers,i think it must have happened when the timing shain snapped,is it an easy job to do,is it quite straight forward,cheers pat
 
Was sitting at lights when it happened,everything is fine apart from a few bent valves,ive got the head off,pistons are all fine,is it quite straightforward wammers,

If nothing else is damaged yes. But follow instructions in RAVE reference fitting of new valve stem oil seals. But it says new valves do not need lapping in. Ignore that unless the seats are being resurfaced you WILL need to grind valves at least a minimal amount. You will need a suitable spring compressor. When you refit valves, fit each valve into head and only then use special sleeves that come with valve stem seals to slide seals over valves. Use a suitable tube drift to seat seals, DO NOT remove valves after that. You will destroy seals. Refit springs and collets. Lube up and refit tappets in place they came from firstly checking for any marks on their surface, if ANY cam witness marks replace. Refit cam in number one firing position locked with cam timing tool. Tighten cam bearings down in a progressive even manner until it is down. Then torque nuts. Note a couple of valves will be open or partially open when cam is down so whilst fitting cam have head supported on a couple of pieces of wood. Allow head to sit for a few hours before refitting to allow tappets to settle. Also be aware that it is possible to bend the protruding valves refitting head if you are not careful. Make sure you get the right valves engines have 6 mm stems some may have oversized stems. So measure stems before ordering parts.
