Hi all, general rant really.Had to go to main stealers today to order a spare key for DSE and had to pay £148 straight away otherwise they wouldn't order it.So thought fair enough paid the said amount and was then told "ok sir thats now ordered it should be here in 6-8 weeks".At which point i asked if he was taking the p*ss 6-8 weeks for a key.So my money is in their bank account earning interest whilst i wait for some german bloke to wait 5 weeks until he decides to start making the fookin thing.Has anyone else had to wait this long? And imagine the response i'd get if i asked my customers for money upfront and i'll be here in 6-8 weeks, i'd be out of business in days.

thats crazy! a little off subject here but do you have to get a new key programmed or can you program the car to the new fob? for example when i had a transit i lost my fob and all i had to do was buy a fob and click the igniting on and off 20 times and click the new fob. i assume being landrover its a lot more difficult?

The new key and fob come pre-programmed and cut ready for use straight away just have to synchronize before use, which for that price i would expect. It's the amount of time i have to wait to receive it thats p*ssing me off and yes by the short and curly's they have you.

I ordered one 3 days before Christmas from Hadley Green main dealers and they told me it was unlikely to be in before Christmas, I wasn't bothered as the other key was OK. Lo and behold 8-30 next morning I had a call to say it was in! £130 I said not to bother with synchronising as the later models are a doddle, put key in lock holding in lock button, turn to left keeping button in, turn to right, turn to left (unlock) keeping lock button pressed all the time, pull out the key, releasing the button and there you are you will find the lock and unlock buttons will now work.
