Hello!

I'm new here as I've only recently started taking an active interest in the family Landrover (an old Defender 110, I reckon from the early 80s, 2-door pickup, 2.4l naturally aspirated diesel) as I'm going to do it up and drive it to Moscow this summer!

So I'll be asking on here for advice as I embark on my restoration project, I guess there's a specific forum for that but thought I should say hello here first!

Huh, so I've failed to engage with the forums recently.. the Defender was a complete non-starter, literally and figuratively, so I got hold of a Discovery 1 300 tdi. It wasn't in too bad shape, and the previous owner was actually a vicar (never raced or rallied one careful lady owner etc!). I'm going to see if it earns its stripes this summer on my trip, and if so I'll start bringing it back up to new in September.

I've got as far as Genoa, starting from Bristol - Bilbao - South of France way. My brake master cylinder has popped and I'm stuck!

I'm steering well clear of Ukraine and all that nonsense, don't worry - Russia itself isn't too bad though in my opinion, just gotta be careful. Anyway we'll see how it goes!

Good luck with the trip! be sure to take plenty of spares, I dont think by disco would make it very far past Taunton with out somthing falling off or breaking

welcome to the forum :)
