Very true, I do like the TD5 engine, but when they give you trouble, my old leccy-free 200tdi gets the vote

touch wood hopefully i'll have a good one this time as my dads had trouble free with it upto now apart from normal wear and tear.

at least im not smelling the fusty oily diesel smell inside the cab, the neighbours aren't choking on blue smoke through there bedroom windows at 5.30am and im headache free

Look after the injector loom and the ECU and watch out for the 3 amigos on your disco and you will be fine.

we had a w reg td5 disco a few years bk most unreliable motor we ever had cost us nearly 6k in repairs..gearbox blew up..ecu failed twice..transfer box had to be replaced..had the 3 amigos twice..at the time we wernt members on ere so got well n truly shafted by a main stealer...would never ever ever have a td5 again
