Need some help with sinking suspension ?

Yes same for me first had a hight sensor issue and a leak at centre distribution block front pipe was cross threaded sorted these then a pinprick in the tank then drivers airbag mulled over springs but going to persevere with air maybe new dunlop front air springs as can't find any leaks I suspect the bags become porous will test

plus 1 as also bought Dunlop front struts and compressor

indeed I also thought about coils but so pleased i stayed with air, so handy for me being able to lower it to aid getting in and out , along with of course the sublime ride quality in how it soaks up all the bumps , also very stable around corners

have u tried spraying them at different heights plse as found mine only leaked at off road height , think that was because the rubber bladder comes out of the metal shroud more in the off road setting

got one of these sprayers that had the long lance in order to reach the strut connections on top seeing there hard to reach with the short reach sprayers

failing that could fit a pair of pushfit isolation valves , one on each front strut pipe as it come out of the front valve block

So after fitting them u could raise it to off road height , then if it drops turn one off at a time and monitor

make a large loop so the isolating valves are easy to reach

of course if one strut leaks they should be replaced as a pair

when I replaced mine I couldn’t get over the difference on the ride quality , was like night and day

Before I forget in something to note, when I bought my struts they didn’t come with the top 3 x nuts , so had to order stainless steel nyloc nuts along with new bottom bolts

ur also need some deep sockets for the that bottom bolt, I did soak the new bolt with ceramic grease to aid if it ever needed to come out again

to also assist in lining the bottom bolt up, use ur scissor jack on the bottom of the strut , leaving the air connection off at the front valve block so as u jack it up it will easily line up with the wishbone
 
Thanks mate deciding what to do really like this D3 well it is black, looking maybe to sell other and keep this I like my manual gonna assess rust, dunlops on front new fittings all round maybe polybush wish bones (been making wish list) then off to overland for caster geometry and suspension calibration if we decide to keep this one, just done over 1200 miles in France with it so have bonded lol and with the chip it nearly does wheelies

ur so very welcome , plus I hope u don’t mind me mentioning it but have u seen the poly bushes splitting wishbone arms

the super pro are the ones to go for , however heard they can make the ride very hard

can fit the RRS ones that are supposed to last longer but again the ride quality is harder than before

think some of the guys here have fitted the RRS ones

personally I fitted Meyle in mine and ride quality is very good , advanced do them

hope that helps my friend and indeed always best to get rid of everything leaving u with one good one

Wow like a comfortable ride maybe rethink that one I have one set of meyle which I bought then spotted a crack so have a set many thanks for advice

No probs mate , I also replaced my drop links with meyle hd which also helped with general ride quality

the stop valve (via Amazon) has been fitted.
The old Girl is up on her heels again.
I have measured the distance from ground to fender mudguard and will let her stand overnight and see if she starts to sink again.
Hopefully we are sorted as this has grown waaaay beyond my technical expertise and knowledge !

Update:
So 3 days without use
Measured frequently
Held steady at 84 cms
Started up on Saturday and no compressor activity and no leveling off
I am therefore counting this as a fix !
£39 for the block valve from Amazon and £40 from the mechanic to install.
£79 to fix my air suspension - I think I got off lightly this time.

I do have another small issue but will start a new thread.

Wow, this should never happen to critical components . Do these wishbones come out of the same factory that make the D3 v6 crankshafts ?🤣🤣
