Just to add my 2ps worth, a disco would shift that. I'd have brought it out backwards as slowly as i could with the door open and someone watching ready to stop it should it roll. Once it was out I'd imagine there was some steering damage so it would have gone on my trailer. If I didn't have the trailer I'd have probably risked it on my A frame but obviously I wouldn't recommend someone else did.

Don't be tempted to snatch a car like that. The reason is that the towing eyes are not designed to take shock in the way that purpose built landy towing points are. Also, on an off road site, whatever you do is up to you and the person you recover. If you had snatched that car out and sent it flying off down the road, you're going to get the blame. A winch would have been the best idea but I don't have one and I don't think you did?

Agree with the rest tow out rear word, But before even getting the kit out let them know there is a good chance of more damage and unless they are good friends get them to sign even a fag packet saying they accept the chance of more damage. Would also get the stupid bmw to park up the road with hazards on since you will be facing the wrong way ( only good use for a x5)

In a snow bank, near someones open garage, in what is obviously a cold part of the country country. Did no one have a shovel? Surely it would have been easier/cheaper (in the long run) to dig it out.
