Hi - Trying to work out if my Nanocom can disable the volumetric function on the Alarm as it goes off randomly - I have found occasional web but even a fly can set it off. First, I have not found a setting to disable so do I have to physically just disconnect it?

Along the way I noticed that within the AS10 - Inputs section, that when the doors are closed each door switch is reported as "HIGH" - But the bonnet reports as "LOW". So, thinking I might be onto something, I tried pressing it only to find that when its closed it reads Low, and High when open - complete opposite to the door switches. Is this correct?

If you physically disconnect, it may give you a chance to find out what is setting it off ... we had a spider who kept catching flies and stashing them in a sensor ...

Some bonnet switches are 'bendable' on a bracket thing, that when your working on the car can flex ... this may chaff the wires too ....

Haha - Ok thanks I'll disconnect it and try that - albeit my spider is a bit of a party animal I think, saves it for the early hours rave. Still wondering about the bonnet switch though if anyone has any ideas re Nanocom readings

I've disconnected the sensor, but again on Nanocom its reporting something odd - in Inputs the Volumetric 1 keeps changing from zero to 1 randomly, even though sensor removed - is that just the alarm looking for a reading?

Could be a boring failing sensor ...

Our Disco bonnet switch had been bent down so that it just made the contact when shut, during the summer when the metal heated and expanded it lifted and failed, setting off the alarm ... took us ages to realise what it was ....

Mine is on that flexible bracket affair, but its making contact ok - I can see that on the Nanocom, albeit with this odd High Low business I still don't understand

Is that the same as an AS10 unit? My Nanocom only arrived new this week from Blackbox and I have rather assumed it would have bang up to date software on it too - Is it something I need to do?

I and my next door neighbour have had our landy alarms going off randomly and they were both cured by straightening the bonnet alarm swith on the bulkhead so the bonnet made better contact with the switch.
I have had a spider set my Volvo alarm off too.

I checked the bonnet switch and it makes breaks contact ok - I have found this morning the passenger offside rear window open 1/2" or so - probably enough to set it off. I've removed the sensor completely as there does not appear to be a way of getting system to ignore it. if it goes off now then it will be something like that bonnet switch - Me and my neighbours should know somewhere about 4am tomoz morning....

There is a way in the software to find out what caused the last ten alarms to go off. The garage showed me it, for me it was the sensor plugged in a new one and it was fine. £35 I think it was.

Yes you are right - and it was the volumetric so at least I can discount the bonnet switch. Thanks
