.....And the start of the strip down.
-thought i would only need to do some welding to the chassis.....
i was just inspecting the underside of the tub i'd just removed - when i heard what sounded like a crisp packet being crumpled and a soft thud.
...That'll be a new chassis then :eek:

Yeah, i'm committed now. Although don't know how i'm going to get a new chassis past 'er in doors'!

yeah i know that feeling, all the best to you mate ;)

oh and keep posting, all being well i'll put myself in the same boat as you with a resto before too long.

Just get it delivered when she is out. I had the details of a guy in Milton Keynes with an abandoned project S2 chassis with much of it restored. Are you interested? That was end of June.

Crashbox - i might be ! - Although explaining to 'er in doors' why i have to drive down to milton' from Aberdeenshire just to look at a chassis might need some.....erm - constructive thinking!!

tell her your going to measure a chassis for the dimensions to work from when repairing yours then dont forget to take yer tape measure and come back with a drawing on the back of a fag packet :D:D

then get her out of the house when its being delivered such as .......heres £20 love now you get yerself down to the bingo :rolleyes::rolleyes:

meantime cut the old fooker up saving the bit with the numbers stamped on it (if it still exists as its the tastiest bit of metal on a chassis according to the tinworm weekly magazine ) and stash the resulting scrap iron anywhere you can out of sight ;);)

when she comes back have all yer welding toys thrown evrywhere and the new chassis sat on axle stands ready for painting

shell never guess :cool::cool::cool::smokin:

Be careful with the .....erm - constructive thinking! In my experience women will interpret this as lying. I think the best solution is to tell the truth, that way she will either put up with it or leave. Man up to it now or you will face the same problem again and again every time you work on the Land Rover.

Or I'll take the pile of rust off your hands :) and you won't have to deal with it, Mrs Waldershelf long ago stopped caring what went on in my garage as long as it doesn't come in the house. (dish washers make excellent parts cleaners but only when she's out)
