My new TD4 has a power problem!

Hi all, I've just bought my first freelander and ended up getting a td4 05 plate hse. Literally hit it last week and on the drive home noticed as I cruised at 70 for a while the engine management light came on and felt like it went into limp mode, not letting me use any turbo power! Not cool. It then went off and all was fine but it's been getting more and more regular, now it's running really lumpy like a tractor. I've had diesels before and know quite a bit about cars but like I said its my first Landy. Any ideas? I've read on here it could be boost solonoid?
