Hi,
I'm new to this site, but I thought I would share with you all my Land Rover Discovery Restoration piccies.
In April this year it failed it's MOT , not suprising really as it was a bit of rust box, it failed on: Excessive rust on the chassis (three places), Rear offside seat belt anchor point excessive corrosion (wheel arch etc.), excessive rust near the brake servo and front wheel arches, battery box corroded (actually it had completely gone), brake pipes not securely fastened & brake inbalance. well........ that's pretty bad, so I instead of patching it up and chasing rust for ever and a day I decided to restore my beloved Landy, I took it off road (SORN) and embarked on an empic journey and being a relative novice to car restoration it took a while (8 months). I have attached some piccies of the initial stages for your perusal and enjoyment.
Whilst I was taking everything apart, I decided to get rid of the Viscous fan and air filter and put a K&N air filter (very shiny) with a 45deg chrome elbow joint with silicon pipes etc.
The fans I installed where from the front end I got from another Land Rover (air conditioning fans), it was fun to have half a Land Rover sticking out the back of 1950's Morris Traveller at 60mph taking it back from the scrap yard!
Anyway, it's gone for an MOT , I should find out later today if it's passed or not .
I'll post some piccies of what it looks like now, I think you will all be impressed (well I am anyway).
