So i decided to make a build thread for my disco,

Starting as a first time disco owner and in my first ever workshop too, so help and pointers are greatly encouraged and appreciated.

Finest epsom green, this has been the only place this disco has known for the last two years !!

So there was a sh*tload of water coming upto the fuel filter so i made this temporary fuel tank to get it running. It hadnt run in two years so 1 can of easystart and 1 24v jumpstart later, alas, it runs, sweet as a nut too; no nasty knocking or rattles just a smooth purr.

So i figured, maybe build a bench in my workshop to help me out,

Naaasty boot floor .. Bye bye !

The tank has gotta go because its full of a white snotty fungus, i have a new tank sitting here ready to go in, just gotta get this one out, its a pain in the ass, lol

There we have it so far, i only picked it up on saturday lol, but no rest for the wicked !!

looking good, bet the 'shop wont stay that tidy and that free of oil stains for long :D

tank comes out piece of cake providing there is no towbar.
it is possible to get the new tank back in with a towbar present, but I promise you it will be an absolute bitch, it will cause you much pain and swearing, so I recommend picking up a bottle of propane and a bow lamp if you havent already to get those rusty bolts out before trying. of course, if there is no towbar, disregard the above ;)

JKx

Oh theres a tow bar alright, iv soaked them in china juice tonight going to attack them either thursday or the weekend, oh with regards to the floor, theres oil spots already, and thats before iv serviced her !

So havnt posted for a while, but iv started to make some progress on the boot floor, got 4 hours of welding in this morning, i done a lvl2 in sheet metal fab and welding at college about 7 years ago, and never touched a welder since, so i dont think i done tooo bad lol

I got both sides done and drivers side patched up, updates to come ..

Cheers, im quite OCD with welding, i got distinctions at college with it, even got to trial an ally mig set, as said i dont think i did too bad considering its been 7 years since i last picked up a torch

Been welding again tonight, and offered up the new floor panel, it fits a treat, just got the rear cross member of the body to repair, weld some supports for the rear seats in and sort the seatbelt mounting points out and thats the floor ready to be riveted and sealed, or sealed and riveted :D

Been given this little big gem too, a rack designed for a trooper, little bit of fettling and welding and itll be a nice, free rack !

Hopefully tonight i can finish the boot floor and start chopping out the sills ready to make my heavy duty replacements

Fuel system is working again, all new tank and associated parts, after a jump start it runs lovely, tried uploading a video but im on mobile so it wont.

Only issue is that my rev needle has very little life in it.

Been a while since i updated here, iv been busy busy, although not on the disco,

First off, floors almost finished just gotta rivet the bastard down and seal it.

Secondly,

Been attacking the sills, ready to weld in the box and make my new ones, more pics later !

I figured that while im replacing the sills, i may as well make some new body mounts, so this is the basic breakdown of them, just need finishing off.

And i started to fiddle around with my new hd rear bumper. I recently purchased this, a winch bumper, hd springs with dislo cones and 4" lift kit. A steering guard and light bar all for a measly £300 !!!
