My Adrian Flux/ULR insurance claim woes!

Poppy is not satisfied with the service she received from flux and that's fair enough but it was an entirely avoidable scenario.

Just think Adrian flux are getting slagged off quite a bit here while the insurance company and 3rd party insurer aren't even named.

Personally, i'm grateful of Poppy bringing her unfortunate situation to the attention of us all... I have now moved all my insurance away from A/F (which turns out to be cheaper too! Bonus!)

I did skip thru a bit but did read all of poppy's posts.

Just got AF, ulr, accident exchange, quality assurance and having churchill on your side, inferring they are on the other side. Not sure if any of these are poppy's underwriter. Could this be clarified for me (and maybe other readers), so that I may be especially careful before taking out a policy with them.

I'm not in the insurance industry, but been quite handy at crashing over the years. Had problems with eaglestar / Zurich in particular. I learned how incompetent the motor insurance industry is with claims handling. I was once summoned to court over a claim that was 2 years old and as far as I was concerned, put to bed. I don't think Adrian Flux, a broker, can be singled out. By asking to have the car repaired at her own garage, poppy got drawn into the process.

It would have been easier to take a courtesy car and give it back when satisfied with the quality of the repair. If one was not offered, instruct a solicitor. All would be paid by the 3rd party at fault at the end of the day. There are many offering no win no fee, and this case is a guaranteed win. Maybe to discourage this course of action is why a lot of policies are now sold with free motor legal protection.

Had you of read through thoroughly you would have seen that I was offered a garage of my choice and then when I got quotes only then was told actually no I can't. Please if you are going to imply that it was my own doing this mess please be aufait with all the facts.

I had read that and referred to it.

At the end of the day, the underwriter has let you down, so who are they?

You referred to it incorrectly implying I had requested my own garage and brought the problems and issues on myself. The company who works on behalf of AF were at fault offering unobtainable promises. And had nothing to do with the underwriters the whole issue was with the people handling the claim chain.
So I'm afraid scan reading has got you the wrong end of a stick.
With all due respect you cast aspersions on a subject without really knowing the entire story.
It was a non fault claim
I was assured my own garage
This was retracted after the third party dug their heels in
There were three companies allegedly working on my behalf all saying different things and had at this point nothing to do with my underwriting.
It became a principal case which illustrated that brokers are awkward to deal with as they have nothing more to do with you other than flog you a promise!

But nobody's singling out AF. This thread is detailing a particular issues which as been brought to the attention of others. If you're aware of similar issues with either AF or other providers then please report them.

I don't think I did. The company that you say are working on behalf of AF are being paid by the underwriter surely? If not, where does the money come from?

Just had a look a the op in this thread, don't want to waste time reading the lot, but I would make these points:



Adrian flux are an insurance broker. They find the cheapest quote from the underwriters they use and take a commission. The policy is with the underwriter.



Asking to use his own garage for repairs was a mistake. The insurer should reasonably expect at least 3 quotes for the work including one from their preferred body shop.



The car could have been taken away and fixed with no fuss.

Above you clearly stated I shouldn't have asked for my own garage...I didn't I was told I would be able to.
I had three quotes, I was told to get from my preferred garages.

My underwriters are irrelevant as I was claiming from the 3rd party! They are not paying the claim the third party are.
My issues were and always have been with the handling of the case by Adrian flux's claim department!

Now as I was the person complaining about the way the case was handled and even though my brain is pickled from Xmas beer I do remember quite vividly exactly what happened 😏

If they were any good, they would have fixed your car and sorted it out with the 3rd party afterwards. Or is that what can be expected from all the policies AF sell?

It's the claims handlers that deal with the claims.
Personally I could have had any underwriters and I would have had issues because I had no support on people working on my behalf

My neighbour on the other hand had his 90 stolen a few months back. He was given a mokka 4x4 courtesy car for weeks till it was fixed. When he got it back it had lost synchro on 3rd. He now has an evoque courtesy car. I'll find out who insures it
 
having been t boned and others cars fault mine was a write off restored series 3 swb other chap has brand new car mine was a real fight over its value and then really messed about with the personal injury claim that goes on months latter i wouldn't use Adrian flux again as they was help at all as all they did was said it was ulr fault who then passed it on to some one else and so it goes on its a shame there isn't a poll for insurance brokers just a guide for others to go by
 
I have not read all the posts, but my course of action in the OP's situation was to send the bill to the driver of the other vehicle followed by county court action if unpaid. It's up to said driver to sort it with HIS insurers the. Oh and I ran a fleet of 35 cars so incidents were not unusual.

Hmmmm! Got me a little concerned as I'm with Adrian Flux, for my series 3 Landrover and my MGbgt ?? Anyone have anything positive to say about Lancaster classic car insurance? Only thinking NOW about changing insurance companies! Kind regards. Chris:behindsofa:

Do people not use their local brokers anymore?

Human beings instead of faceless call centres, competitive and good service

Lancaster robbed my mate BTW, but he didn't get his licence to them in time

Adrian Flux is my local broker approx 12 miles from my home and yes they are very very pleasant and give good service One to one! But after all thats been said in previous posts??
