mpg

came back from my holiday at Wemyss bay in scotland today back to South shields and i got 180 miles from just over a quarter tank of diesel. took my time, kept between 50 - 60 mph. has anyone else got this type of mpg from there car. n reg 300tdi manual disco.

That's a bit vauge ennit? Track ACTUAL miles and ACTUAL litres used over several tanks. Don't use the fuel gauge... it's just a gauge!

but saying that i got from dartford devon to peterboro cambs 290miles and still had a full tank

i did give the aa recovery man a drink tho£

When I left scotland I had a needles width more than 3 quarters of a tank of diesel. When I got home, I had exactly half a tank by the gauge. I don't think there is anything wrong with the gauge, but I could be wrong. I'm going to peterborough next weekend so might fill it up and see what I get as its a 200 mile trip

the only true way is fill tank right up do your designated journey and then fill it up again that will tell ya how much fuel youve actually used

I'll do that this weekend as see what I get

If it;s oat like my gauge then don't tek any notice of it. From full to half way I can do nearly 200 miles. From halfway to nearly empty I get about 100 miles.

I just reset the trip odometer to zero each time and wait until I hit the 300 miles point and refill with 40 odd litres!
