MOT passed but 4WD question arose.

I own the vehicle as a winter hack that I enjoy a bit of light off roading and laning in, nothing serious, but as I said I do like to learn as I go along hence the question. :)

Now I know so from now on in my life I can say I know how the discovery 4x4 system works.

EXACTLY!!

It's a variant of the "need to know" syndrome.

One thing you need to know is that when you DO get the Disco stuck somewhere, you are probably well and truly S-T-U-C-K !

That's not a Mini or a Honda Civic out in the mud ... it's two and a half tons of Disco sunk to the axles and floorpan!

That's why I don't go out alone and try to avoid the deep mud where possible.

Have been stuck a few times and been grateful for the tows. :)

Left foot braking needs to be mastered as puppy said, so lots of practise required there then.
Michael Schumacher in Formula One used it with great success, he learnt the technique when he was a rally driver...as u do :)
Yep i learn't how to left foot brake when i did rallycoss, very usefull when mastered even do it now when driving FWD cars in the wet, its amaising how quick you can get round a corner/roundabout :D

I thought he went from carting and then into formula ford and then carried on up through the single seaters toF1, learn something new every day!!

He's still an arrogant German.

I have never understood what people see in F1.
It is such a total BORE.
I used at take an active part in motor sport, but I have never wasted time watching F1.

It is a perfect example of how to persuade the masses to part with their money. That little squirt who OWNS F1, has made a lot of money from it, and EVERY PENNY of it comes from the ordinary people at the end of the day.

That's one reason why I don't have a TV set. I will NOT have any of my money subsidising things like F1, and paying the wages of half-wit cretins who kick footballs and are paid ludicrous sums of money.

Still a bloody good driver though.

As for the idiots like Wayne Rooney etc, totally agree biggest waste of money there ever was.

Football is what happens in a park on a sunday morning before going to the pubb. The rest is show-biz. Ditto F1.
