I did a similar trip by motorbike 20 years ago and I have been thinking about revisiting the route in my 110 with my children 12, 10 and 8, however I didn't fancy it as a solo trip and I was concerned that the 'politics' in the region may have changed.

Will this trip be a family friendly one or should I look at starting a new thread and leaning on you guys for some upto date local knowledge :)

hi, we planned a route last time which didnt go to plan alot of the time as one of the landrovers had alot of problems with breaking down (broken rear diff and snapped front halfshaft plus various other little problems)

as for the trip i would have said it was family friendly.

Quiet agree, how are you doing son;
I am looking forward to the next trip. Hope we can get the family together again. It was a great crowed. I see Ken has put a post under Expeditions for 2015

I'm doing good been looking on ashcrofts website at upgrading my diffs and half shafts don't want a repeate of what happened last time

Have to keep us posted on what upgrades your going to do.
Are you going to keep the standard 90 axles or will you go for Salisbury axles.
According to my Landy guy who uses a 90 in trial competitions over here, Salisbury's axles will fit. He wants to put one on the front of his.
Think I will have to look at the Uj's on mine before the next trip. I also want to kit mine out a bit better rather than have everything just thrown in the back.

Chilipepper,
It was a great trip, no problems with locals apart from getting into the country.. We were stuck at customs for over two hours just waiting to get our stamps. Bloody gippo's loaded with everything and had to empty the cars/vans for customs.
Apart from that, no problem at all.

I've also got the little black book from Sid so i'll put up some costs for those who are interested in approx costs.

Cheers

Also, it will be a family friendly trip, the more the merrier. A good time was had by all and we had a cracking BBQ at the side of a dried up river bed at 4000+ ft, top night.

We're also up for a pint sometime if you fancy anyone.

Cheers

Sound's like business as usual, I remember the wait well, however not to much to unpack on a motorcycle!

Out of the 21 days we spent over there only came across 1 village where anyone tried to nick anything.Mind you we did keep the bike's in the hotel courtyard in Marrakech.

Hi guys,

If it's ok, I might like to put my name down for this, the last one looked absolutely amazing.

That gives me a while to get my 90 back into one piece!

Would be cool to meet up for a pint if you want to vet that I'm not a weirdo...

i definitley want to meet up for a pint! at the very least it will give me the push needed to convince the wife to let me go again!

Sorry, if you want to come with us you must be a weirdo otherwise you don't qualify.

We're always up for a meet and a pint or 4. If you're in two minds about going, we can convince you by the time you've supped your pint that you really need to go!!
