Will you be taking it to Ashcroft so he can take a look ?
let us know how you get on Ad as I was thinking of getting a fresh box before we set out next year, but you have got me thinking otherwise!

bit more than just lay shaft bearing was it an old box
front ,middle or rear bearing ,there was a time when decent bearings were unobtainable for a while , but **** happens even to new onesturns out it was the lay shaft bearing had collapsed and they gave me a part refund on the box as a goodwill gesture. Cant say fairer than that. have got another box of them and its in the old girl and she is now back on the road which is good as we are going to amsterdam in 3 weeks time for my birthday.

Hi GD,
Are you thinking about a replacement g'box, or what?
I guess it was just "unlucky" for his g'box to let go just like it did with no warning.
Hopefully, you would hear, or feel some thing not quite right, and catch it before it grenades itself.
Is your current g'box worrying you?
What is the mileage on your g'box ?
