Mondo (Auto Gearbox)

Could someone tell me if it is detrimental to the auto gearbox to drive in mondo mode I have looked in posts but can't find what I'm looking for.

drove my auto in mondo mode for about two years! no problems at all and much better fuel economy not to mention that the car had a bit more "poke"

Thank you for reply,I have just been to Rover Independent to get it booked in for a auto gearbox oil change as I think this is the best place for oil change after reading some of the horrors stories.

I'll probably have to get mine checked too - Everything seems ok at the moment but you never know...

I have an auto too and if we don't get any snow soon I'm thinking of having the prop shaft taken off which I'll store until next Winter.

Is yours the V6? I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are once you've removed it and driven around a little.

fair enough but just remember you only hear horror stories on forums... think of how many FL there are on the road, most people who own them are not mechanically minded and dont fix them themselves.
