Modulars and Flexi Arches - getting there....

If you've got time, have a look in my build thread - there's a couple of photos in there. :D

Funny you should say that, I spent a good couple of hours reading through your thread last night bud. There is some good view's of yours cut. As I say, I think i'm just going to have to go for it.

Just out of interest, how did you guys go about the cutting? Did you use a jigsaw type thing or a grinder?

Angle grinder. Just Go for it mate. Just remember it's always better to take off too little than too much. Make ur mark and cut well inside it and then try arch up against it and see how much more needs comin off. May take longer but u can always take more off where as if u take too much off ur fooked.

Make sure you get the right arches. I fitted 3" and later swapped them for 2" which bizarrely need more cutting out! Different hole patterns, etc.

Must admit my 50mm arches are just wide enough for the wheels/tyres combo I have, thought I would have a bit of spare space, but filled to the limit :D

Sorry to keep intruding on your thread stu but I have another question about the rear arches.

Once you cut the door, I'm assuming the door seal gets cut off aswell? If thats the case how did you go about it? Do you just not bother with the seal or did glue it back further in??

Its just the seal on the inside of the rear door arch.....it just stops the inside of the arch getting mucky as the main seals are still intact. At present I haven't done anything with that seal as been to busy with xmas and plus the weather ain't been good for working outside.

Might look at it when I have time in the warmer weather

Cheers bud, no spaces, just all offset modulars :D plus my tyres are slightly smaller at 70's

What I did see when I was looking that the modulars used to be -32 offset but I went for -35 offset to get the most I could

I reckon I have gained about 55mm per wheel as the alloys are about +20 ish from memory.

I do like being able to see the rear wheels in my wing mirrors
