Must be the rim or it’s really bouncy? I have 285/75/16 (standard rims) with no issues and not 4” up
How does yours flex?

You can see from my photo above, the front stuffs the wheel up in to the arch pretty good. Similar at the rear too. I can well see a larger tyre catching the inner arch trim.

I opted for 255/70R16 tyres and 16x8 rims (think the offset is ET08) for this very reason.

@RangeRoller dt it's just the rim offset suprising how wide a 10" rim with such a negative offset is, a few bits did require a slight bit of trimming to be able to do a full lock with enough clearance for axle angles etc

Excuse the wheel weights  but yer the -32 10j is quite a wide wheel and with the lift they do tuck in the arches just about ;)

Not really into my flexing as much as you, nobody is :p;) been bit of scuffing from time to time but nothing major. Ground the diff before going that sideways usually. When the tyres were new the tooth of the insa turbo would catch the radius arms which mot guy did mention to me one time. Now they are nearing the depth markers not such an issue. The coils have dropped over the years but still considerable height. Only the fronts really no issue if I avoid heavy steering on uneven ground. It’s due a new set want something little smaller and less aggressive think new set of 32s would now require new coils/shocks to pump it up that bit more.

I know most of you guys like your original p38's and I know I will probably get slated for bringing this up but is there anybody here that has done much to there's to take it away from standard and made there's more of a off-road toy ?

Look up Range Rover Evolution in France. @996TURBO used to have some nice mods. The videos are somewhere.

Tbh with the whole snorkel thing I majorly agree mine has no arch liners as they interfere with the tire/wheel combo and it is easily filled with water, was the last thing I done to mine and if you go with the terrafirma one don't follow the instructions as the measurements they provide are wrong ( luckily I marked mine up with templates before I cut any holes and was quite far out)

I never considered a snorkel necessary until a club member in a Toyota 4Runner stalled hie engine by driving too fast through a deep puddle. His air intake was in exactly the same place as the P38. Fortunately his air filter blocked all the water and no engine damage. Took out filter, cleaned plugs and he was off again.
I have purchased a Terrafirma snorkel so will double check all measurements.
Driving offroad I always run at 25psi so that smooths things out a bit. In high mode I'm always crawling so ride is not really an issue.

The measurements was way off I found, I ended up making a template of the side that mounts to the wing , took the airbox out and drilled from the centre of the intake mouth then worked from that as it was about an inch to far back from the measurements they give you

This was my P38 when i finished it, 2” suspension lift on springs with 2”+ shocks and a 3” body lift
With my own custom made bumpers and winch it was really capable off road and much better on the road than i thought it would be

Thanks for that info. Do you have any photos of the hole in the fender?

My snorkel is at a parcel pick up place just over the border so I have not picked it up as I don't want to bother with getting tested before coming back. When I ordered it they had cancelled the requirement for testing at that particular crossing due out massive flooding event but then they re-instated it just after I ordered. If I had known that was going to happen I would have shipped it to Point Roberts, Washington, which has no border crossing testing requirements but the officials just spring this on you with no warning. No wonder people get PO'd.

I didn't take any photos of it when I done it but I the instructions say the front of the snorkel body should be 75mm in from the front of the wing have taken a photo now for you where it actually sits for the mouths to line up as they should ,
