Missing

Got a 2003 td4
Started missing when on the motorway
Cut out completely had to stab the pedal four times at 65/70 scary
Feels like a small miss thru the pedal but not all the time
Happened yesterday and the engine management like flicked on twice
On the 90 mile return trip hardly missed a beat . Any clues cheers Terry

Clues could be in any codes stored.
Crank sensor is a poss cause but I don't think it gives a code.
Where you say cut out did the engine stop or just loose power and how did it restart?
