Morning all, I thought I would ask you guys before my mechanic.

Driving my 2003 l322 yesterday, pulled off the dual carriageway and heard a clunk clunk noise, pulled over when it was safe.

I traced the noise to the steering column rake reach motor. It appears to be constantly motoring with no switch input. I can get it to pause for a few seconds by creating an input on the switch, the reach mode has never worked since the day I got the car home, the height mode still works.

Any ideas? And is there a fuse I can pull to disable the steering adjust. We are moving house and AllComms is in a box. Somewhere lol.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about a fuse but could you program it to be in the fully retracted position using the seat memory switches so it isn't trying to move?

Thanks for the replies, pulled 20 and 23 all seems okay. It doesn't need to move, nor does the seat until I sell the car lol. I'll get my mech to look at it when it's in for service.
