Hi I've had my 02 disco for 12 years now bought with 48000 mls now on 107000 there is no rust and has been the best vehicle I've ever had, it would have gone long ago if it was'nt. now the clutch is starting to slip not bad yet but needs doing over the years I've developed back problems so thinking whilst the box is out put in an auto whilst the job is half done, the parts are available on a scrapper that the mechanic who will do the job for me has got, has anyone done this swap and what are the hidden bits that will be needed ie electric looms and switches transmission cooler etc. Thanks Malc

Thanks for the link, doing a clutch replacement isn't cheap either unfortunately gone are the days of doing it myself so have to bite the bulit and pay for it

Better replace the clutch cos such conversion is just a kind of botch, it will never be like a factory fitted auto, you need a auto transmission ECU too and automatic engine ECU, gearbox harness and engine harness with CAN wiring beside other bits and a lot of programming with dedicated diagnostic tool, it's not just a simple mechanical job... more complicated than it appears
