l've got a stiff one !

l'm having trouble selecting 1st and 2nd gear after l've been sitting in traffic for a while, the gear stick feels stiff as if it binding a bit. lts the same even with the engine off, if l tap\bash it to the left it then goes in ok, its as if its not moving over to the left enough to select 1st. ls there any adjustment or could it be worn or some thing bent.

Have you checked the obvious like gearbox oil level? The gear lever should come to a rest in neutral in the third/fourth position if it's adjusted correctly.

Yeah l changed the oil a few weeks ago and l think it does come to rest at 3rd/4th.

You can get an additive that helps stop the taper on the synchromesh and gear from locking up this may help a bit, can't think what it's called now, try Ashcrofts website.

Yes l did, l've got that diff lock evo 1 in it now.
