Hi guys

Having a problem with my discovery, was driving home from work and was running really well plenty of pull and no smoke then suddenly at the traffic lights it started running rough almost as though it was running on 4 cylinders.

Now the other week if replaced the injector harness and ensured the plugs where on properly and all the rest, prior to switching it- it was running well just had a sign of oil in the loom so replaced it before it got to bad.

What's could be the course of this problem and where do I start ? Tried changing the fuel filter but can't get the old one of ATM but will try again. The car has always been drawing in air or the sound of drawing in air from the pump as it surges but it's never been a problem other than a slight struggle up long hills which i was trying to rectify however the pump was replaced approx 15k ago.

Apologies for the long post just trying to paint the picture.

The car is 2003 with 160k on the clock

Many thanks Scott

worth check loom connector , does it sound like its running on 4 all the time ,its not unknown for injector push rods to break ,air in fuel system can be injector washers ,fuel pump it self often either screens blocked or poor pump ,its worth replacing air bleed valve in rear ,tyre side filter outlet, undoing filter drain water sensor and placing a container underneath it and watch for a good smooth flow of fuel with ignition switched on will often show ump issues

All I'm seeing in what you have said is ££££££ lol. I shall have a look at the fuel filter tomorrow and check the flow. Checked the connector will have a play with it again though.

Thanks for your input

Switched back to my old injector loom and it's now running sweet as a nut again. Moral of this story DONT BUY AFTER MARKET ONES BUY GENUINE ha. Now to try and get some money back...
