Need a bit of advice please peeps, am posting this using my fone so unable ti do an in-depth search :)

A friend of mine in South Wales has just pulled her 2.5 N/A motor out of her 90 with the intention of fitting a 3.5 carb V8

Trouble is she's now discovered what I told her ages ago in that it won't bolt straight on to an LT77 gearbox, bless her!:D

Is it just a simple case of sourcing a V8 bellhousing in the hope that it'll bolt straight on to an LT77 or will there be issues with the length of the first motion shaft into the clutch?

Or is it a case that a complete LT85 gearbox/bellhousing will be needed to sort it?

Anyone got a suitable gearbox/bellhousing for sale perhaps?

Any sensible ideas would be appreciated please :)

Ok problem
one is the input shaft splines
Two ratios for diesel will be different to v8
Three buy a v8 gearbox all will fit no problem
If you buy a late r380 you can fit the remote housing from your original box a box from a v8 disco or classic or a d2 will fit

Hiya lads n ladettes, the gearbox is for me. I really cant be doing with sourcing and swapping different bits so if anyone has a complete box for sale, I'd be very grateful!

Cheers all :D

Ah so the remote housing is where the main gearstick comes out the top of the box?
Swap it from LT77 to the R380 and it'll work, that right?
