Hi, all. Having trouble replacing the front radius arm bushes on my P38. I`ve made a barrel load of errors here, but here`s the situation: front radius arm bushes need replacing; arm off, bushes out ok, but new bushes are 2mm larger than old ones. NOW I read RAVE. Better late than never s`pose. It seems LRT 60-004 is needed to compress new bushes into arms. Any ideas about where to get hold of one. Reckon I`ll have to buy on line, as my local Landy dealer has a lovely modern stainless-steel & glass showroom decorated with a Ferrari & Jag XJ220 to maintain, so guess he`s not about to give me a quick loan of his workshop! Comments welcome; except ones telling me to read the book, and get all tools together first. They may be deserved, but please don`t kick me harder than I am myself!

Prolly going to look a prat here but..............arnt the radius arms the hook shaped bits that go from axle to body???
If im' thinking corrcetly and its the arm to body bush your changing cant you use a ratchet strap on the axle to some part of the chassis to pull the bush in????

Please feel free to ignore this if i'm talking bull:D

In the past I've just asked a garage or a machine shop with a press to push bushes (not LR ones mind) in for me, I've never paid more than the price of a couple of pints either.

The bushes are the ones, two per side, that attach radius arm to axle. I`ve access to a press but 2mm extra with no champher on the edge, looks like a good chance of damage when inserting `em. I can see what you mean about pulling arm onto chassis, but , it`s other end that`s causing the headache. Ta, for reply tho`.

That part is around £80 from Britpart or Lrseries. They both say its near impossible to fit bushes without. You could try using polybushes instead.

Thanks for the pointer. £90 inc vat for tool, or £70 for complete set poly-bushes ex island4x4.? No tool req... I was trying to keep to original bushes, but .... Best to sleep on it `n` only exercise my button (pay-pal) finger in the morning..

Decided to go the polybush route. Assuming all goes well, will change the rear-end bushes, etc, when I`ve got 5minutes spare!
