LR Approved Warranty - What does it cover?

I agree, this link says that clutches are covered. If the clutch won't operate as it should it should be covered whatever the cause I would think.
All the manufacturers I've had dealings with cover almost everything on their approved used schemes.

You will find there is small print, smaller print and even smaller print on a warranty sold alongside a vehicle. (Note, sold!!) Watch out for the bit that probably says something like clutch plates are covered and everything else isn't. And the old chestnut of nothing being repaired to the betterment of the vehicle. What is covered by the warranty should be on the paperwork supplied with the car. Otherwise consider the Sale and Supply of Goods Act - "has to be of merchantable quality and last a reasonable time" no matter what the warranty fob off is. If you have only recently got the car try that approach.

The minimum duration of warranty cover provided with Select used vehicles is 3 months, however it is possible to extend this cover to 6, 12 or 24 months at the time of purchase.
