Lower Low Range

Has anybody heard of a lower range low range gear for the transfer box?

I run 900 tyres and a 2.5N/A. Whilst it's fine on the road in high range, I could do with a lower ratio off-road.
I know you can fit a one ton transfer box to do this, but they're silly money.
At present 2nd is like 3rd off-road, which is fine, but 1st gear is too high especially going down steep hills.

Changing the diffs is out because I've fitted a Detroit locker in the back and I'm not about to throw that away.

I've seen underdrive kits, but again very expensive.

Any ideas?

Change the tyres ?

Yeah, right.

seem to recall years ago they did this by swapping the cogs over in an overdrive to a lower ratio

its in bits at moment ,the only difference as gear box goes is mainshaft is longer at rear for 1 ton transfer box,got one of them too,had a whole heap but not something many people wanted

i had an ides of doing the oppersit... and getting a higher range box than normal? (not that i have a clue what in talking about by the way)

1 ton box would be perfect Brett!
