Maybe an idea to post under a Disco 1 heading. You might get a better response.

Whey aye, success!!
After looking at various threads discussing the possible reasons for the above I changed the lift pump, seems I have changed a perfectly working pump!
Then I read up on the sedimentor, two schools of thought, A, its there for a reason, clean and service it.
B, it's inaccesible, bypass the sod and clean the diesel filter regularly.
I went with A, however after two hours of using words I hasn't used since being " doon the pit" considerable skin and blood loss and next door enquiring of wor lass " is John all right" I opted foe B, within two hours of work she is running like a sewing machine.
All the problems gone.

Except for the rear window that has opened halfway and won't shut, the intermittent speedo........loll etc etc
