coolant system needds to be tip-top watch out for k-seal and any overheating walk away unless dirt cheap. sills rot away.

v8 should idle at half way on temp and colant hoses should be sqiudgy when warm.
should have a slight rthymic tick and nothing more!!

My needle just covers the bottom of the thermometer temp symbol and never moves summer or winter and the only sound from the engine is the the fan, various pullies and serp belt spinning around, but its aounds a bit different from the tail pipe. Perfect.

If at all possible to verify, check that V8 engine has had regular oil changes. Pretty sensible for any engine check, but officially oil changes should in theory occur every 3000 or so miles, which is way more frequent than more 'modern' engines, and many owners realise.
