Looking at buying defender 110

Hi guys,

Looking at a defender 110, all seems in good nick. only issue is that the turbo dies.

in all honesty would this be a complete no-no and steer well clear, or are they not that bad of an issue.

what would approx. costs for the repair be to this.

What do you mean, 'the turbo dies'?

What engine is it? I replaced the turbo on my 300TDI and it was a pretty easy job to be honest.

Turbo's expensive when new but can be bought second hand reasonably and they last well. If you wanted to go somewhere between used and new you could get a reconditioned one although stay clear of Britpart - Not too bad of a job - perfectly doable by a home mechanic with a little knowhow.
