I spent X-Mas in Abaco, this is a 1965ish fire truck that was given to the Bahamas government back in the 60s.
Its for sale.
Can I afford this project???

The chassis looks good in some places and bad in others.

Would be a shame to leave it there, it only has about 600 miles!!!!!!!!

Problem is.

The truck was originally donated to the government (British at the time).
Now the fire department on the island wants to sell it but its not really theirs to sell.

They basically told me that I can have the truck BUT what happens when I take it and invest a bunch of money and the government decides that they want it back?

I am quite sure that they don't know that this truck even exists.
Im going to make a couple calls to some friends in the government and see what I can dig up.

Really would be a shame to let it sit there and rot.

However, the body has less corrosion than my D90! amazing............

BTW, happy new Year everyone.

There doesnt appear to be a reg plate on it either.
You might be in for a whole load of hassle by the sound of it.
If you get a go ahead then get it got, otherwise maybe you'll just have to walk away and let someone else have the hassle, one things fer sure if you did it all up shiny, and then the government found out they'd for sure want it back then.
