Axle painted up (need to strip the drums down and replace the pistons):

Also removed the bulkhead wiring loom ready for taking the bulkhead for repair:

Good thread so far.

To get full images it is best to upload them to somewhere like photobucket, and then when you have done that, you click on the photo and on the right hand side there is a "Links to share this photo" section, just copy the IMG one and paste it straight in the thread.

Hope that helps.

Thanks James.

Made a start on cleaning the transfer/gearbox.. Not bad for a first clean:

I also jet-washed the tub ready for a further clean and painting the underside.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to get the fuel tank off??

It seems like the nuts are starting to round off and there's not much room to get anything other than a spanner in due to there being no room.

A bit more progress yesterday. I started stripping down the axle:

Going to clean up the bits I can now get to and give it some more paint.

From what I can tell (although I'm by no means anywhere near being an expert) the diff and half shafts seem to be in good condition.

The drum back plates really need a good clean but one of the pistons bolts doesn't seem to want to come off and there's not much room to get a socket or spanner on without it twisting off.

I quite fancy discs on the back but waiting for a local axle to come along seems to be taking forever (maybe I should just convert this one??).

Started to clean up the brakes during my lunch hour:

Dam piston nut still wont budge though, so I may have to try grinding it off.

Finally got the tank off (had to grind it off) and started the chassis clean around it:

and then removed the front wing and bulkhead:

The bulkhead will be going off to have the footwells replaced but at least I can now get at the ret of the chassis to clean and paint it. There's a couple of holes on the front outriggers that can probably be plugged but apart from that the chassis is in really good condition.

Just awaiting some nuts and bolts for the a frame so I can then put the rear axle back on and start building it back up.

Spent a bit of time over the weekend.

Removed the radiator and cleaned the engine (which was very black indeed):

Then started to re-assemble the axle as my shocks and springs have arrived:

The rest of the parts for the drums are one the way so hoping to get it sorted by the weekend.
