I recently replaced the wheels and tyres on my Series 3 with a repainted set of Defender tubeless steel wheels with new tyres. While these look almost exactly the same as the old Series type, they are welded instead of riveted.

This made me wonder if there is any suitable locking nuts available for the M16x1.5 threads used on Series 3 hubs?

I never worried about anyone nicking the old dirty looking tubed wheels with well used tyres. I had another set of wheels thrown in when I bought the vehicle and found that it was a struggle to even give them away.

The new set may be more attractive for theft as they are a modern Defender wheel.

Thanks for any replies.

Readily available from the on line retailers for around £25.
Not sure if the wheels are a risk. It seems there are plenty around as the tratter owners go alloy.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that the decent set of tyres may be more attractive to thieves than the wheels themselves.

I would think the types that stoop so low are attracted by huge useless balloon tyres to make up for their lack of brain cells.
Everything is worth extra protection but alas a series is usually stolen and stripped at leisure.
