Yup, mine's brill, but then most people would probably say the same for their own vehicle, whatever it is ... ;).

Better than my old series, can do as much as most Defenders off-road, then do 90 on the way home, in comfort and with the stereo softly playing ... ;)

Seriously, IMHO they are the best vehicle Landrover ever produced.

absolutely fantastic, look after it and it will last you years, i found a gem and i'm keeping it, ten years old and it passed it's last three MOT's. they can do just about anything asked of them.
Excellent choice :)

Look out for excess pressure in the header tank! (See my overheating post). There should be some pressure in there after a run but it shouldn't gush everywhere.

Other than that I've been well impressed with mine, only had it a month and haven't had the chance for any serious off-roading (see above) but it coped admirably across steep wet fields to the orchard I occasionally 'work' in. And comfy on a run, when the heater works and it the engine doesn't overheat!

Not too bad to work on and loads of advice here (and elsewhere) on performing any bit of maintenance you ever consider, and many you, quite frankly, shouldn't!

very early 300's suffered a bad design on the timing belt pulleys, which would wreck the engine if it shredded the timing belt.

However, due to the age of them now, most have had the timing belt changed and had the uprated parts installed. Check that yours has, even more so if it has a very low milage!!

dont let that put you off though, the 300 is a great motor!
