So I've made myself a light bar for my fender.

Question is, where do you feed the wires into the cab?

I'm sure I asked on here before, but I cant find the post. I remember someone said something about a rubber grommet. But where do you drill the hole?

Does anyone have any pictures of where their wires feed in.

Google can only find one picture, where the wires are drilled through the windsreen post about two inches down from the top. Is this where everyone puts them?

Please show me some pics.

If youve a snorkel, go down the side and into the engine bay.

If not go in the door seal at te corner where the rubber joins.

Mine go down through the Door Rubber, Down the inside of the windscreen pillar trim, along the dash and behind the speedo clocks to where my Relay is.

All looks very neat my by standards!

I removed the interior light and drilled a hole through the roof. I used a waterproof cable gland to feed the wires through then ran them down the window pillar behind the trim and into the dash. Once the interior light goes back theres no trace. Its never leaked so it must be OK.

The poxy kids round where I live though it was funny to chop the wires just above the roof so I replaced the cable with some armoured stuff. Its a bit of overkill but they wont be able to cut that so easily.

On the disco I went up the a pillar behind the trim, then drilled the Seam which the door seals fit onto, then straight up through the gutter to the light bar. I drilled the seam, where the vertical & horizontal seams meet. Can just about see the wires if you open the door, or look in the gutter. sure you could do the same on the defender

So i think thats most votes for through where the rubber door seal is. That must be right under the gutter right?

And two votes for in through the roof, that must be above the gutter though?

Does anyone have any pics?

This is how I've run mine. Just be careful that you don't catch the rear windscreen washer pipe when drilling

pm Andy Land - think he's done this and is usually keen to show off his pics:eek:

Sorry Andy:)

Ha ha ... no worries SH but I haven't got any pics of this! Mine go down the snorkel, into the engine bay and through a hole (grommeted) in the bulkhead.

I think you may be thinking back to when my interior light wouldn't switch off and I found a screw holding the windscreen side trim in place had gone straight through the wire:doh:

Still feel free to PM me as it makes me feel important but you'll get nowt back I'm afraid :p
