Hello all,

I would like some help from yourselves if possible. I have an issue with my LHD (converted) 2002 V6 front wipers.
I have changed the wiper assembly from RHD to LHD. when I connect the wipers back, rather than working normally they just go down further than their normal position in towards the bonnet and it just stays there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is a thought for anyone with electrical knowledge.
Would it possible that the way the wiring is done is for a RHD motor is affecting the LHD motor to act like its resetting itself as a rhd?

Ok did a re-fit of the wiper with no joy. I have put the rhd assembly back on the car and now this has the same issue as the LHD wiper. I can now only think that it could either be the plug that connects to the motor or the wiring as I needed to extend the cable.

Have you put the wiper wheel box rods on correctly onto the motor? If you have fitted them up the other way the wipers will work backwards.

Ok found out what the problem was, the Teeth on the Assembly were ground down by the Wiper arm (which also ground the teeth on the wiper arm itself).
This caused the wiper arm to lose position and then sticking towards the bonnet area and becoming stuck. There was bits of metal shavings in the assembly compartment.

It was a Britpart assembly and my garage advised me after the fact that its really not a good manufacturer of parts as they tend to fail (a lot)

Ended up buying a second hand RHD wiper assembly / motor / wiper arms all for £25.

Unfortunately the Brand new Britpart assembly put me back £77 (motor cost £33 on top)

Expensive lesson learnt. :hurt:

Thank you to all members that took their time to read my post and share their knowledge.

Your welcome mate, glad to see you got it sorted in the end.:)

as fishlander said you need a left hand drive one because the wipers will not be wiping the part of the screen if you are on the left of the screen.if that makes any sense

In the 80's and 90's lots of EU car makers don't bother making rhd wiper assembly's for the UK market!!

I did buy a full LHD wiper motor and Assembly. It was my own stupidity when I put on the RHD wiper arms on (incorrectly) the LHD assembly which screwed up the teeth of the assembly.
