Some time ago I saw a conversation about a cheap sollution to changing the direction of beam on a Freelander by removing one of the locating lugs on the main beam bulb.
This was quite some time ago and I cant find the old post does anybody have any knowledge of if it Works and if so wich of the lugs to remove..
Thanks in advance

Depends on your headlights - Some need the top tab removed, some need all three.
You need to rotate the bulb in its housing by about ten degrees, so that the section of beam that kicked up to the left on original RHD setting becomes flat. Do it in front of a wall at dusk to see what I mean.

Some headlights have wider locating slots for the bottom two tabs, so cutting the top one off allows you to rotate it to the correct spot in those slots. Others dont so you need to cut off all three and its a bit of trial and error.

This is enough to pass a French CT test if your tester isnt too strict, as the beam pattern is generally the right shape but not as sharp as it should be. However, the lights are pretty pish after that at night.

The above trick with only work for the 472 headlamp bulbs. If it's a facelift Freelander with H7 bulbs, correct headlamps will be needed.
